Why you’ll love pizza scrolls
Puff Pastry Pizza Scrolls are one of my favourite savoury baking ideas for kids. They’re really versatile – you can use whatever fillings your family enjoys. My boys love ham and pineapple, and so Hawaiian puff pastry scrolls it is.
They’re lunch box friendly and make a great alternative to sandwiches.
And these Puff Pastry Pizza Scrolls are so quick to prepare! You can have them ready for the oven in under 10 minutes. Or freeze them for a future fast lunch or snack!

Ingredients in Puff Pastry Pizza Scrolls
You’ll need just six ingredients to make these kid-friendly pizza scrolls:
Puff pastry sheets – Use frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed according to the packet directions. I like to work with them while they’re still slightly firm for easier rolling.
Pizza sauce – Use your favourite store-bought pizza sauce, or substitute with tomato paste or passata/puree mixed with a pinch of Italian herbs (see Note 1 in the recipe card).
Ham – Diced ham adds a tasty, savoury flavour. You can use leftover sliced ham, ham off the bone or shaved deli ham, chopped.
Cheddar cheese – Grated cheddar cheese helps hold the scrolls together. Tasty cheese or mozzarella also work.
Canned pineapple – My kids’ favourite topping! Drain the pineapple really well to avoid soggy pastry. Then chop it into small pieces to help the scrolls roll tightly.
Egg – To make a light egg wash to help the pastry turn golden and crisp in the oven.
